Yes. All GenFollower films and foils are guaranteed to be DNase, RNase, PCR-inhibitor, pyogen, and DNA-free, ensuring reliable results.

a. Heat-sealing: Use a heat-sealer to melt the film edge and bond it to the plate rim.

  • Film: Low cost and very secure. Moderate barrier to air and moisture.
  • Foil: Superb barrier performance, but at a higher price.

b. Self-adhesive: Sticks on with hand or roller pressure. Simple and fast to apply.

  • Film: Perfect for quick, temporary seals. Less reliable in very hot or humid conditions.
  • Foil: Offers high barrier protection and easy application. Requires a robust adhesive layer for lasting tack.

c. Pressure-sensitive: Bonds are under pressure to activate the adhesive layer.

  • Film: Lower barrier, heat and chemical resistance than heat-sealing films. Adhesive may weaken in constant humidity.
  • Foil: Offers light, gas and moisture shielding barrier protection.
A sealing film is a thin sheet used to cover PCR plates (for example, 96-well or 384-well plates) during thermal cycling. It:

  • Keeps samples airtight to prevent evaporation.
  • Stops one well from contaminating another.
  • Withstands the high and low temperatures of PCR.

There are two main types:

  • Film: Flexible polymer sheets (heat-seal, pressure-sensitive, self-adhesive, stretch film). Lightweight and easy to handle.
  • Foil: Ultra-thin metal sheets (primarily aluminium foil), often laminated to a plate. They offer the best protection against gas, light and moisture.

Clients Testimonials

The sealing films stick well and give a tight seal. Easy to apply, and they come off cleanly too. Great for everyday PCR work.
